This two day stress management course and micro-adventure provides people with the tools they need to manage stress and improve well-being through progressive lifestyle medicine and ocean sports.
This course will take you back to basics within nature at our spectacular secluded location on the banks of the River Fal in the heart of Cornwall, that is only reachable on foot or by boat. Expect messing around on boats, sea swimming, bushcraft, great food and developing stress management skills.
Based on the grounds of a 300 year old Stone 'Woodsmans' cottage, there is an entire woodland wonderland in the forest including a huge fire pit, hunting Lodge, tree house, outdoor kitchen, bushcraft area and outdoor feast table. Accommodation is derived of an indoor communal barn or hammock area. There is also a swimming platform perfect for wild swimming in the river Fal. This course is suitable for all abilities.
Stress management workshop:
Most people don’t need a pill, they need a lifestyle prescription.
Topics covered during the stress management course include:
• Self-regulation and the brain; the biology of stress
• Different types of stress and how to alleviate them
• Good sleep habits and sleep misconceptions
• Exercise and lifestyle as medicine
• How to stay calm in a busy world: the importance of relaxation and meditation
• Nutrition: gut health and the microbiome.
• The importance of relationships and having a purpose
Here is a break down of what you can expect from the retreat:
Monday 3rd June:
9.15am: walk down to camp
10am: welcome and session 1 of the stress management course
5pm: session 2 of the stress management course
7pm: Dinner around the campfire or in the wooden cabin by the log burner
Tuesday 4th June:
8am: wild swim
1pm: session 3 of the stress management course
2.30pm: finish and walk back
Activities are weather dependant and can include canoeing, wild swimming, foraging, bushcraft, moonlight paddle and night walks.
£255 per person
This includes: stress management course, all activities and equipment hire, accommodation and all food including 3 delicious meals.
